What do we want?
1. Films that are about disability.
Or
2. Films on any subject that was produced, directed and/or written by people with disabilities.
Entries, in English, dubbed in English or sub-titled in English, from around the world are welcome.
Why do we do it?
Media festivals are usually "good time" events. We want everyone to participate in this event and feel they have been entertained, learned something new or have a greater understanding of disability. We also want to connect with other communities around the world making it possible to gain a global understanding of what's happening with disability culture. Film is a wonderful way to do this.

Why should I enter my film/video in your festival?
Picture this...film festival is both a competitive and exhibition festival. So, you may enter your film to compete for an award and your work becomes available to a wider audience. Films are selected to be screened during the annual festival in February, then Picture this...on the road takes different selections of films to other places.
How do you make my work available to a wider audience?
In three ways:
1. All award winners and honourable mentions are automatically screened during the main festival in Calgary, as well as many entries that have not won awards. Also, all entries are available to be screened in our Picture this...on the road series of mini-festivals and themed programmes.
2. Your entry (if you ticked the video library box on the entry form) is available in the Picture this...video library allowing anyone who is interested an opportunity to see your film while attending the festival.
3. Picture this...on the road goes out from Calgary to other locations near and far taking selections of films to audiences that are not able to attend the main festival in February.
How much does it cost to enter a video or film?
There is NO entry fee to submit your work to Picture this...film festival.
What format should I use for my entry?
All films should be submitted in DVD format. Other formats may be admissible subject to approval by our director.
